Coaching a reading team takes a lot of time, energy, planning, and patience. Here are some things that we hope will help you build your best team.
By submitting and signing the team application, coaches agree to these requirements.
- Coaches Training- Take part in coaches training to learn more about the competition.
- Book Questions- Write and submit one set of 10-20 questions for one title on the elementary, middle school, or high school level list due the Monday after Thanksgiving holiday break. You will be contacted to sign up for a book. We always appreciate volunteers to read and write questions for more than one.
- Volunteer- Supply one volunteer to work at the Reading Bowl Competition in January.
- Coaches must agree to comply with the rules set forth by the Cobb County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Committee.
We will create and share PowerPoint presentations for each of the levels here for you to use. The new lists aren't released until sometime between March and April from the Georgia Book Award committee at the University of Georgia and from the Georgia Peach Book Awards for Teen Readers. We will announce the release of the lists when they come out.
